We now have 3 camping trips on our new 179 (June, 2015) each for 3 days and about 200 miles on each trip with no major issues. However I noticed that when the slider was in the out position the panel under the refrigerator would bulge at the bottom. After removing the the panel I found that the tie wraps to the slider power cables had been cut and that the cables would hang down low enough to get caught on the small kick plate that is behind the larger panel causing the larger panel to be forced out at the bottom. I replaced the ties and adjusted the cables, it took about 3 tries to get them so that they wouldn't catch but also would not be too tight with the slider in. Not sure if the cables were cut at the factory or at the dealer I cant imagine why any one would cut them. Other than the blown reverse polarity fuses on the converter which I described in a post in the dealers forum we are very happy with out 179. Next trip is Boston to Rocky Mountain NP, Grand Tetons NP and Yellowstone we should be able to break some things on that trip.  ------------- Ron & Sharon 2015 R-Pod 179 2022 Nissan Frontier No trees were harmed in the sending of this message but a billion electrons were really agitated |

| We did that same trip last year but from WI to those great National Parks. It was a fabulous trip! If you're taking I-90, give us a wave on your way past La Crosse, WI! BTW, there are some beautiful state parks in this great state if you get a chance to stop while heading west. |

Will do LaCrosse brings back memories I spent a summer at camp McCoy in Sparta, WI with the army in 1969. Ft McCoy soldiers still come to La Crosse to party! We are heading to New England this fall. Any suggestions as to where to stay or things to see? We are ultimately headed to Acadia NP, heading north near the Great Lakes coming back along the coast heading inland whenever we find something interesting. We like odd, out of the way local attractions and local food.

At Acadia I suggest Seawall campground. If you ride bicycles you will find riding on the carriage roads amazing, additionally Sea Kayaking trips, and Puffin/Whale watching trips are great if the weather is good.. Be sure to make reservations. For dry camping Emerald Lake State Park in East Dorset, VT. Then visit the Merck Forest/Farm in Rupert for hiking or just visiting with the farm animals. Ronahue, We had the same problem with our 179. I tried zip ties in a lot of different ways and finally found a combination that looked OK. What bothered me more was the possibility that something would fall behind that area while on the road and we would not notice. That could put that panel in a bind when we opened the slide. We're pretty careful when we pack up, but there are a LOT of bumps in this world.... I finally got some small hinges, and now, if there is anything in the way, the panel will just swing out as needed. I'm not keen on all that exposed wiring, but it looks like there is little risk - just ugliness. That panel looks like melamine-covered particle board and what it attaches to is fairly stout aluminum stock. No problems so far. ------------- Joan, Jerry and the two Pugs 2015 R-Pod 179 |
