Hi.  We picked up a new 2015 182g Forest River Edition in May and have really be enjoying the experience.  Towing with a 2015 Silverado 1500 4x4 crew cab.  We plan to explore the Rocky Mountain region so I wanted a tow vehicle that was more than capable of the load.  I hardly notice the trailer is back there.  We have only dry camped so far and the 182g has been a nice balance between trailer convenience and tent camping.  The out door kitchen sold us and has proved to be even nicer that we expected.

I've spent some time reading posts on the forum and just wanted to thank the contributors.  Its has been a  tremendous help getting started.  This is our first travel trailer so there has been a lot to learn.

The detailed description of various mods on this forum is very helpful.  Its given me a lot of great ideas and info.  There are just three of us so we plan to convert the upper bunk to more permanent storage for clothing and gear.  In the Mountains you can experience all four seasons on any given weekend so we like to be prepared.  We also modified the dinette area into a King using a collapsible extension that stores in a slot in the upper bunk area.  Added memory foam after the first weekend trip.  Nothing like enjoying a hot cup of joe while the heater takes the night chill out of the camper.  I'm a long time backpacker and it took no time at all to embrace the R-POD.  Other planned mods include second propane tank, bike rack on the tongue, tongue mounted spare to free up some space below the bottom bunk.

Thanks again for all the great info on the site and see you out there!

Welcome.  I'm a long time backpacker, too.  Lots of boaters here, too, so many people used to a more minimalist feel.
