Just purchased a 179. Where should we take our maiden voyage in Northern California?

Thanks for any input.

Congrats on your new purchase. I vote for Big Sur. Jules Pfeiffer State Park. Explore Monterey, and Carmel. Have a cocktail at Nepenthe overlooking the Pacific. Safe Travels.

Bob is absolutely correct!

Heres a few pics of our tour from Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park up the coast to Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. This is just a small handful of pics (memories) we returned with. Monterey, Carmel, Nepenthe and all places in between were simply magical.

Thanks Leo. The entire slideshow is about four hours long. In a year I still haven't found someone to sit through the whole thing! Wink

We just got back from 3 nights at Mackerricher State Park just north of Fort Bragg on highway 1 a few hours up the coast from San Francisco.  It was excellent...big, quiet, lots to see, good for kids.  No hook ups.

The town is close enough to visit but does not feel too close.

Bobdog,

I live in Red Bluff and we just purchased our 179 about two months ago. I would suggest Lassen Park camp ground to get out of this heat.
