We just took delivery of a new 2014 Rpod178 three days ago. We are just beginning a 7 week camping trip that will cover. 10 states ( FL GA AL MS AR MO KY TN VA NC)

We ended up buying this without my normal research -- On day one of this trip which began in Florida we had a blow out on our 2102 A-liner which did a lot of damage - long story short once up in Georgia we traded it for the rpod,

So I am learning a fast as I can๐Ÿ˜ƒ.   I have already trimmed the under seat lids and added a little support board there. I am going to put in an inline fuse on the hot wire to enable battery disconnect

What other must do mods need doing?
Can someone post a link if there is an owners group Facebook page? All I could find was the Forest River factory page๐Ÿ˜„
Looking forward to learning. We had the Aliner for 3 years and a pop up for 12 years prior to that

Welcome.  Wow, nothing like a breaking it in on the road!  Two things you should check before every trip and then every day on the road is the torque of the lug nuts (100 ft/lbs for the pods) and the tire pressure (at the max sidewall pressure).  The pressure in your TV tires should also be near the sidewall rating, although I recommend a few pounds below the max for ride comfort based on my own experimentation.  The biggest reason camper tires blow is low air pressure.  They can look fine visually but be 10-20 pounds low!

I can think of things you probably need to wait to do until you get home.  I think 2014 was the year they started adding interior LED lights from the factory.  If yours are incandescents it doesn't take much $ to buy replacement "bulbs", and that will extend your battery time when you boondock.  Also order a longer sewer tube, and get the risers installed if yours didn't come with them.

My tire pressure was spot on and the blow out happened 45 miles up the road on a fairly cool day๐Ÿ˜ณ I may have hit a small nail or debris or maybe a tire defect - I will check them regularly as I carry digital tire guage

Mine has the old bulbs ๐Ÿ˜” Anything special when buying new ones? Or just 12v LED bulbs?

Mine has risers๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thanks for the input ~~~~~ any FB page links?

Unfortunate.  At least you know your tire pressure wasn't to blame.  Eventually the nuts seat so you don't need to check them every day, but with brand new wheels you may need to do it several times the first day or two.

A bunch of info here on LEDs:  http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4734 - http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4734

A repost I made on that thread:
Pop off the cover of one of the fixtures and confirm the number on the base of the bulb. Probably a 921 for the inside bulbs, 1141 for the outside bulb. Then search ebay and Amazon for bulk lots of that type of bulb, in the color (K) you want (incandescents are 3000K, cool white are 4000 or 5000). Personally I got a "paddle" type of bulb for my interior lights. It looks like a miniature ping pong paddle. For my outside lights I got a large panel type.

There is a pod owner's FB page, I don't do FB so I can't tell you its exact name.  The owner of the page is a long-time contributor here so I'm sure he or someone else can chime in.
