This is my first year dewinterizing my RP178.  I was looking at a video on YouTube and referencing the instructions on this site.

It seems that both processes required the use of bleach to clean out the tanks and water lines but the order in which the hot water heater is cleared differs.

Just wondering what most folks on this forum do.  Do you fill the hot water heater immediately after filling the fresh water tank with chlorinated water or do you wait after the initial flush of the chlorinated water before filling the hot water heater with water?

Thanks,

Cody91

I sanitize the WH tank also. Whole system. As far as I am concerned, if you aren't going to do the whole system, and do it right, why bother with any of it.

Thanks for the replies from the Senior Podders (Furpod and Leo B)!

If that is the right thing to do then the Dewinterization Section of the Forum Instruction Manual posted by Teckntrek a few years back may be a little misleading.

It instructs you to fill the hot water tank with fresh water after the chlorinated water is emptied.

It seems this guy on YouTube is a little more thorough.

You have a point.  Anyone else think it should be changed?

That guy on Youtube is pretty awesome, I'd be partial to what he says myself.
