Hi Everyone,

Ok so I think I bit off a bit more than I can chew on this one.

So I removed the Dometic A/C unit on my R-pod 178 (no issues on that)
I have put in a 2250 Fantastic Fan in its place

My issue is the wiring.

When I wire it all up I get a E1 error message on the thermostat and I have an extra blue wire that used to attach to the A/C unit.

I have no control over the heater output it just runs and runs once the heater gets power.

Is it possible that I need to replace the thermostat to just a 2 wire heater thermostat?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

ok, it looks like the blue wire is a common wire. And since the new fantastic fan doesn't come with a terminal to hook a common wire into, my thermostat and my heater won't work.

Any ideas?

The fantastic fan is a stand alone unit, I don't think you can run it off a wall thermostat.. I have one that runs off it's own wireless thermostat/remote control.

Nick, bin there done that, I guess your furnace fan is running but the gas won't come on, you need to install a new plain and simple 2 wire thermostat.

Yes Marwayne

You are exactly right!

I Just tried a $12 thermostat and it seems to work just fine. Now I just gotta rewire the new TS.

Thanks for the replies everyone

I bought a 2250 Fantastic Fan to replace the A/C.

As for structure, everything fits as it should, A/C hole is the right size for the Fan to fit into.

Wiring was tricky as I'm not an electrician. Take your time, and label each wire (even if you don't know what the wire does) that way you know what wire goes where. You'll need to switch out the existing thermostat for a simple 2 wire one (see conversation above).

I also put a clear lid on the fan as well (no tint). There is a ton more light inside now.

All in all i never used the A/C so there was no use having it. I might as well put the space to better use.

Now you can sell the A/C, although you may want to keep it and swap it back in when you are ready to sell the pod.
