Has anyone figured out a way to either tow a jet ski behind the rpod or some other way to get both the Rpod and the ski to the lake with one vehicle. The rear receiver is only rated for 150# if memory serves me and i think you void the warranty if use it for anything but a bicycle rack. The tongue weight of a single ski in a trailer isn't much, but afraid of trying it with the existing hitch . i haven't really looked yet, but could the frame be beefed up back there to accommodate a better receiver setup? any help or thoughts are appreciated. i have a 182g if it matters Texman

Have a similar problem wanting to bring my Harley on trip. Only thing I have come up with is getting a pick-up to carry the bike in the truck bed and tow the pod. i don't have the ski yet, but i think most are too long to fit in my short box pickup. Don't forget to check the http://www.woodalls.com/articledetails.aspx?articleID=1195129 - local regulations (and the regs en route) as to where triple towing is legal, if its restricted to fifth wheels only, or if its outright banned. Apart from that, its not covered by your r-pod's warranty and could be used as an excuse to invalidate all sorts of twisting/bucking/torsion issues throughout your rpod (walls/structure/frame/axles). Don't forget, you're not only dealing with tongue weight, but with twisting, binding and bumping/klunking from the seadoo trailer. But, if you still want to go ahead and tow, I suggest that you head to a hitch/welding shop and have them beef up your frame/hitch mount before you begin. ------------- Craig :: 2009 RP171 towed by a 2017 F150 |

Better idea. Put some floats on the Pod and tow it with the jet ski! Anchor, open the windows and stick the rods out! Sounds like great camping to me! :)
I think you need a flatbed truck TV or the old RPod toy hauler and electric trailer tug. Sounds complicated. Take a kayak on the roof instead. Probably can tow the pod with my Harley.................. I do like the fishing idea!! The Rainbows are running in the Connecticut river my son went down with some friend and came back with a load of over 5 pounders. a friend of mine has a short box and used an extended hitch to move the trailer further away and puts his jetski in the pickup box... just remember you will need at least 2 strong guys to move it in and out :p ------------- 2015.5 RPOD 171 |

A problem with hitch extensions is they usually drop your hitch weight rating in half.
