Well, we pulled the trigger and bought the used 2013 177 yesterday. Thanks to all who helped giving me tips on what I should look for before buying.

I am excited but overwhelmed.  Got 281 miles of Towing under my belt to get her home.  Stopped at a rest area for a break, got gas on the Turnpike  and was able to even back it into the driveway in only 20 mins of tryingLOL

Now I need to de winterize, get the weight distribution hitch adjusted, get on axil risers, adjust the break controller (I installed it so who knows if it is working properly). Clean and seal things.... Introduce the 2 goldens to her.   the list seems bigger than my house list..... Can't wait to get her up to Loyalsock state forest for some boondocking

Anyone in the  burbs of Philly, who do you get your pods service done by?

Hi neighbor. I'm across the river from you in Stockton, NJ. We bought our 178 from http://www.stoltzfusrvs.com - Stoltzfus in 2013.

I haven't used any Forest River (rPod) Service yet, but have found these three in the surrounding area. You might want to check with Techntrek before having service done @ Stoltzfus.

The three that I have found:

Easton, PA:  http://www.allseasonsrvs.com - http://www.allseasonsrvs.com

Joppa, MD: http://www.bayrvcenter.com - http://www.bayrvcenter.com

Adamstown, PA: http://www.stoltzfusrvs.com - http://www.stoltzfusrvs.com

Let me know if you find anything closer.

Fred

Congrats. Now how about sending an ex-Philadelphian an Italian Hoagie. They don't know what they are out here. Safe Travels.

Hi Fwunder,  I saw your mods,  Can I hire you LOL....  Indian Valley Camping indicated that they would put on risers, but I guess I will know for sure when I call and schedule an appoitment.

Congrats.

The brake controller adjustment should be easy.  First make sure the brakes are working.  Turn off the boost setting if yours has it (the Prodigys do, push the button so it says b0).  Hold the manual activation lever, usually on the bottom, all the way on, and while you do that adjust the output about half-way between full and none on the display (usually the adjustment is a slider on top, or on the Prodigys it is a knob).  Release the lever and then move forward slowly, activating the lever again slowly up to maximum.  Do this several times until you find a setting just below where the trailer wheels lock up.  Later during a real trip adjust the boost setting where you like it.  I liked b1 with my popup, b0 with my pod, and b1 for my current trailer.  The higher the boost, the more braking power is applied earlier on.

As was mentioned, I'm not fond of Stoltzfus' service department:   http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=979&PID=46906&title=stoltzfus-rv-in-adamstown-pa#46906 - http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=979&PID=46906&title=stoltzfus-rv-in-adamstown-pa#46906
