Does anyone have a recommendation on how to lock the pod up so it can't be towed away while stored outside?

We use a tongue lock.

We use both a tongue and a wheel lock (just to be extra confident while we're away).

The goal is to make it hard enough to make them move on to the next victim.  With enough time they can defeat anything.  Not being pessimistic, just realistic.

Latch locks and ball coupler locks (like the first link johnmaci posted) are easily defeated.  Even if they don't defeat them they will just back up so they are close and wrap a chain around the tongue and around their hitch, then pull the trailer somewhere else where they'll take their time with the locks.

The problem with the wheel lock in johnmaci's second link is the wheel can be removed and replaced with the spare.  There are options that cover the whole wheel (like police departments use) which help with that.  Another wheel-related option is to use a heavy chain through the wheel spokes then wrapped around the axle, with the usual problem that a bolt cutter can defeat it or the lock you use.

One of the best things you can do, where possible, is out-of-sight-out-of-mind.  Also a conspicuous video camera where they know their details are on tape, if you park it at home.

Use all of the methods and hopefully they'll just move on to an easier pick.
