Dear Friends, again!Smile
I have looked on the various subject forums on the site and I am sure it's covered somewhere so I hope this is not a redundant question from a newby!

We just don't see much convenient storage options for stuff on our new 178.  I know there must be some tricks and just thought we'd ask.  If this question has been answered just let me know the thread and that would be great.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Many thanks.  This is a great site!!!  And really nice people

Loren and Sally in Bend.

Yep, we've all been there. Go to the RPod owners group on Facebook for some fabulous suggestions and photos. Most folks went with a shelf over the dinette and storage pockets, hooks and built in cubbies. Check it out. Travis Mattingly is the PodMaster!
Good luck.

We have done a couple things that increased storage, but truthfully, 2 big dogs and 2 adults, been out for as long as 10 days, never felt we needed more room for more stuff/food. We do still take a cooler for drinks, so only "food" in the fridge..

I wish I didn't have such a difficult time posting pictures but I have a mental block when it comes to computers. I built two storage shelves that have worked out great for our vibe.It would be identical layout with the 171 or any of the model r-pods with a rear bed like the 171. If someone wants to private message me there email address I could send them to you from my iPhone and you could post them on the forum. The shelves will hold two to three cloth size grocery bags full of what ever you want to put in them, we use them for clothes. We are very happy with them and they provide a lot of storage.

Someday, perhaps we will learn.

We always pack much more than we use.

We use packing cubes to sort our clothing. Small cubes for socks and underwear, medium for t-shirts etc and the large ones for jeans and skirts.  There are also larger cubes we bought at the container stores used for storing extra sheets and towels that we put in the back under the dinette.  It's a cross between living out of a carry-on and a locker.   http://www.ebags.com/product/eagle-creek/pack-it-complete-organizer/271309?productid=10296803 - This organizer has 2 small cubes connected to a medium cube.  We just pack our smaller clothes in it and bring it to the pod. Larger clothing items get put in a small soft-sided duffel.

For food we use a combination of plastic shoe boxes to corral smaller items and tuck them under the dinette as well.  We also use the flat-bottom reusable supermarket shopping totes to hold some food as well.  Our menu is planned according to our destination and we always have leftovers as we buy food along the way too.

Come to our Roundup in August in Cannon Beach and see what 35 other Rpods have done to address this concern.  Space still available at Circle Creek RV in Seaside.  Safe Travels.

I have a 178 and storage is a challenge, but I say challenge accepted! There are many solutions and the exciting discovery awaits you. The ole shelf over the POD with baskets is THE #1 storage mod for the 178 for sure. It basically provides a four drawer dresser for all of you clothes!
