Hello,

I just purchased a 2011 176t. I see the newer versions have a regular mattress but ours has an air mattress. Can anyone tell me how\where the regular mattress is stored when the tent is down? I am trying to figure out a replacement for the air mattress. Has anyone with an older rpod swapped out the air mattress? I have read a lot of forum posts but don't see much on the hybrid version.

Thanks

The newer pad folds in half.  We just got ours (176T) in mid-March so have only stored the pad flat on the dinette (if table is down) or tilted against the wall behind dinette (against the tent).  I saw someone had it flat against the tent with bungees crossed from corner to corner to hold it more firmly against the tent "wall".  In this position, you can use the dinette on two facing sides with little interference from the tent.

I also bought a 2" queen foam topper to put over the pad  I fold it in thirds and store it in one of the bunks if not being used.  I guess it could store against the pad and tent in the dinette as well.

I cannot imagine sleeping two people on the air mattress.  We tried that at home when we had guests.  It was very uncomfortable and every time one of us moved, so did the other.  Very bad night of sleep resulted!

Enjoy your pod ;0)

Thanks so much for the response. I'll definitely be shopping for a replacement for the air mattress.
