We got out for our first camping trip of the year this week. Heater worked fine during the evening. Then prior to going to sleep we like to run the heater and warm up the trailer good. Nothing, no fan nothing.
Hot water heater works fine, replaced fuse, still nothing. The thermostat on the wall clicks, that is all. Battery voltage is good. Any suggestions?  09 151 model. Just heater model thermostat, no ac.
thanks

Does it not run on propane and, if so, got gas?

He must have gas since the water heater works.   My bet is a bad connection between the thermostat and the heater.  There is a fairly easy step to confirm that - find where the thermostat wires connect to the heater and short across the terminals.  It should start up.

I jumpered the wires at the thermostat and it works as long as the jumper wire is connected. When I remove the jumper wire no matter how high the thermostat is set, it cuts of the propane and shuts the fan down in a minute or so as it normally does on the cool down state.

So that's the good news. That thermostat has an on/off switch that mechanically stops the contacts from coming together. Check that switch. It's sometimes hard to move. Did I mention cheap junk? After you figure this out and return home consider replacing it with a battery powered electronic thermostat. Lots better.

Yup, that is good news, since you don't need to run a new wire between the thermostat and heater.

It sure sounds like the thermostat.  Not the heater or the wires between the heater and the thermostat.  The latter was my problem last winter.  That was theoretically a very simple fix but quite difficult from a practical standpoint.

As Charlie said, the eom thermostats are about as cheap as they come.

thanks for the tips
ordered up a Lux thermostat, got great reviews on Amazon. Camping here is Idaho, the heater is a manditory requirement. We head up to the mountains in the summer and down towards the Snake River in the Spring/Fall. Temps are usually down to mid to high 30's at night. Got to keep the wife happy with the comforts of home.
