Hello all.

In preparation for a cross country trip, I decided to learn how the convection oven works by making brownies, but had to leave to do something. Long and short of it - 320 deg for 30 minutes, I was 5 minutes late and returned to a spectacularly smoke-filled r-pod.

It's gonna be hard to keep this from the wife, that's one problem, a BIG one.

The other problem is, 'How do I remedy the smoke smell"?

You can really help me on this one, and help is urgently needed (Can This Marriage be Saved?).

My suggestion is wipe all the hard surfaces down with an all purpose cleaner. wash all of the sheets and curtains if any and shampoo the Upholstery. Boil some white vinegar on the stove for a few minutes and then air out the trailer. After all that if there is still an odor put baking soda or crushed charcoal in bowles around the trailer both of these products obsorb odors.  Hope this helps.

Lemon juice is a pretty good deodorizer as well.

Thanks for a ll your responses.

When I opened the door to the Pod, all I could see was a billowing cloud of brown smoke. I had previously successfully baked a pie and thought I had things down pat. After extensive Faberge application, etc, I am afraid that I am going to  have a professional ozone treatment to get rid of the smell.

'No experience is worthless, it can always serve as a bad example' - I think I went wrong when I tried to reprogram the oven after I found the rotating base was not working. In re-hitting the keys, I think I told it to bake at 395 degrees.

The biggest lesson - ALWAYS use an oven thermometer (It won't hurt to stay near the oven, too)
