I have my first campsite booked, but need to ask about the drainage. My RPod 179 has the grey water tank behind the wheel and the black about 4' in front of the wheel. All the videos I've seen have them in tandem. Granted my 2015 has a flush system standard for the black tank, but when I arrive do I only hook up the grey and then switch if I need to empty the black? Another question: my electrical is back on the left side of my trailer. Should I have gotten a 30 extension so it will get to it or will I be ok? thanks in advance

You can leave the sewer hose attached to the gray tank and leave it open, but close it when you know you are getting close to emptying the black tank so you have some water to flush the sewer hose with. You don't want to empty the black tank until it is at least 2/3 full. You will hook up the black tank, empty it, then hook up to the gray tank and empty it, leaving the hose on the gray tank again. Most campsites you will be ok with the cord that comes with the pod, but this is one area you don't want to skimp because the day will come when you wish you had that 30 amp RV extension cord. I am with Doug. we keep our line hitched to the grey tank unless we are ready to dump. That's what I'm trying to describe: the grey is NOT near the Black tank in the 2015 models

Yes, that is true for many models and years. Picking up or 178 on Wednesday. We've been tent campers for 35 years, my first camp trailer. How do we drain the fresh water supply so we aren't carrying it on our trip home. I was thinking perhaps via the toilet to help that drain. |

There should be a drain cock on or near the bottom of the fresh water tank. Just open it and get out of the way. If you're really ambitious you can also open the hot and cold low point drains and open the hot and cold water faucets inside the camper. This will drain all the pipes and also the 6 gallons stored in the water heater. Not really necessary if you're not ready for freezing WX yet. Your black tank should have a black tank flush connection to clean the black tank. Agreed on the water heater, I don't usually drain it either. Also if you are draining your freshwater tank at the drain cock on dirt. Put a board, stabilizer pad, flat rock or some thing under the drain cock.
