Has anyone camped near the park?  Looks like there is a private CG by Reno Creek.

Yes, but so long ago I am sure it won't help.  We tent camped in a well established campground in the first town south of the reservation land.  I can't recall the town or  the campground name.  I liked the site but the showers etc. were a mess.

The battlefield is spectacular.  One can trace the battle right to last stand hill.  And there is a monument to the Indians who perished at the battle now as well.  There is a small but interesting interpretive center.  I think it is well worth the trip.

Tented several years ago at a nearby KOA. Windy but nice pool for the kids after visiting the sites.

The 7th Ranch RV park just south of the battlefield is very nice. Good staff and really clean.
We stayed 2 nights there last fall.

Have not been to that park but have been to Theodore Roosevelt national park. Wild horses and lots of buffaloes. Park loop to see both. We camped in park (bathroom, no showers) The Buffalo were grazing in CpG when we arrived. It is located just off l-94 in north Dakota about 25 miles from Montana state border. Its a good 2-3 day stay. You will see wild horses & buffalo on loop.
