Our 2014 171 HRE came with metal mini-blinds. I am interested to change out to the "pleated night shades" that come with the newer models. I like the idea as they won't clatter like metal blinds and our new mattress is fraying on the bottom blind attachment points when I lift the bed to access the storage underneath. Can anyone comment on the pleated shades? Thank you. ------------- 2014 RP171 HRE 2010 F150 |

They are OK...a lot of folks opt out and install curtains. Complaints that I have heard about the pleated shades are they are difficult to adjust up and down and they don't provide absolute privacy at night with the light on in the POD. I guess figures may silhouette. The retro fit to the pleated shade will more difficult and costly over going to a curtain, but it can be done. ------------- Cliff & Raelynn Ranger 4.0/178 (1/2 ton 5,800lb tow capacity) |

We removed our metal blinds and added curtains on the r-pod we sold, with our current camper a Vibe it came with the day night shades. As has been mentioned they are difficult to operate, I like the curtains we had in our r-pod better. I have read that others have replaced their day night shades with curtains and happy that they made the change.
