Can you all reply with the advantage of  bunk or no bunk bed option: .

Here is what I can think of. Can you please list some more ? I am considering 178 or 176

Bunk (176)

Advantage: more kids can sleep
disadvantage: on day time, the bunk bed area can not be sit on, so it is a dead space

No bunk with regular bed (178) :
Advantage: we can smi lay down, sit on the bed, red a book during day time
disadvantage: less number of kids can sleep.

Please also list pros and cons of 176 over 178

We had no bunk in our 171 which was fine at first, but as the kids grew they complained about needing more space.  I built a temporary bunk above the dinette which helped for a while.  I really didn't want a permanent bunk model but that temporary bunk helped to convince me.  Our current camper (not a pod) has them - no more complaints.  Even in a smaller camper like the pods they do have an advantage of being storage space during the day for those odds and ends that are always on every horizontal surface.

We have a 178, but it's just the two of us. If we were camping with children, we would seriously consider the 176 because of the two full time sleeping areas.

The bunks are awesome. We have the 176T. Not dead space either. There is huge storage under the bottom and we have only one little one so the other bunk can house loose things like purses or jackets, camera bag, etc etc. Im 6'4" and I have slept on the bottom and it wad great.

We have two kids who love each other dearly during the day, but had no interest in sharing space at night.   We just bought the 176 and the kids are THRILLED to each have their own little place to sleep and stow their stuff.  We also love the storage under the bottom bunk.  Before making our decision I went and looked for the pros and cons as well.  Some people have "gated" the bunks to make them into storage lockers and I saw that some childless couples sleep in the bunks and leave the dinette up as seating full time.  When all was said and done, I couldn't see any cons to the bunks for our family of 4 (even as the kids grow up and my husband and I are camping solo).
