Looks like there are are a wide range of prices of the 179 from$16500 to $25000. Found this on the same search so I took a picture. Are there different models? Or is pricing of these things just wacky?

Also looks like there are two different outside graphics. One with swirls and one more retro. Does this styling difference go any deeper that these graphics?

Only 1 model of 179.  Differences in graphics are the old discontinued colors outside and then the new retro colors outside which are standard now on all Pods.

Pricing if very different between dealers and across the country.  Places where Pods cost more to be shipped the price is higher, and places if there isn't much local competition for an R-Pod you'll see higher prices as well.

They're all the same though.  Only difference would be west coast ones would be HRE models.  Larger wheels, diamond plate in the wheel wells, risers standard.

But those simple changes are not enough to account for much base price difference.

I get that there are differences based on region and shipping. But this is a differance of $10,000 ($15,000 vs $25,000) and both are in Florida. So it looks like one marked it up $5k and one marked it down $5k.

I guess I will be shopping a bit for price and going to the dealer with the best price. Done it before for cars and I can do it for a camper.

There will be a small difference in price due to "options" sometimes.. but what you found is not that far from the "norm" .. you have one dealer posting what they will take, and another posting what they would LIKE to get... LOL

Trust me, no one has ever paid 25K for a pod. A 179 on the east cost should actually sell pretty close to the $16.5K number,  depending on dealer.

Many people use http://www.couchsrvnation.com/forest-river/travel-trailer/r-pod/rpod-179114 - this dealer as reference point, and many dealers will/can get close to their numbers..

That was easy. $14,475 for a 179. That's more like it.

Thanx for the link.

As I mention every year on both forums, The mark up on all RVS is 40%. Doesn't matter what class, A dealer who wants to sell will take a 5-10% profit. Others who don't wholesale or volume deal will try to make 25%.
