Or, as some call them, "Buddy Bearings", you might want to occasionally give 'em a good whack to be sure they're still seated properly (using a block of wood, of course).

I used my utility trailer today .. Got home and found I was minus one Bearing Buddy.  Probably change in temps plus a gravel road.  Now I get to clean (& maybe replace) & repack the bearings on that wheel.

Yes, I should know better.  Gosh, Dad, I just forgot!

Anyway, if you use BBs, don't let this happen to you!

Bummer! Are you going to use the POD super-lubes or tear it down, clean, and repack?

Hi, Cliff.  If I understand what you mean by Pod Super Lubes, that's the integrated system on the Pod . My bearing problem is on a simple utility trailer.  No built-in lube system; hence the Bearing Buddies.

Am I misunderstanding what you mean by Super Lubes?

I'll tear it down & inspect.  Hopefully won't have to replace.  Either way, I'll repack.  But a new Bearing Buddy's going back on.  Especially since this trailer doesn't have brakes that can get fouled.

But the integrated system on the Pod?  I use it.  Spinning the wheel when adding the lube.  And pumping carefully & slowly.

Yes, knowing that you use the after market setup on the utility trailer, or at least one...sorry, couldn't help myself. Big smile I was just curious to hear how or if you were going to use the "integrated system" on the POD aka Super Lube Hubs.

The short. A zerk fitting used to add grease without the full breakdown. Officially - not to be used in place of the annual full service, but some do.
