I currently have a Rockwood model 1950 popup which weighs a little under 1,900 pounds loaded. At home I easily move it around on my almost level paved driveway with my 22 hp John Deere yard mower. I will be picking up my 179 pod late March. Should be no problem. I have moved ours on our not so level drive with my Cub Cadet. it's a little bigger, 27hp, but I didn't feel for a moment that it was going to get away from me.

Welcome Grandpa Hiker, it's not so much the horse power of the engine as the weight of the tractor that you are using. My 107 Cub Cadet with a 10 horse engine had almost as much power as my 3200 has but weighed 400 pounds less. The 3200 Cub had 23 horses that would pull the POD easily around the yard unless the grass was damp. Both tractors were shaft drive to the hydrostats, no belts or clutches to slip. My John Deere 318 could get my much-heavier popup going w/o a problem - but stopping was a problem if I wasn't really careful. I was worried about damaging the hydrostatic transmission, too. I am thinking too it would do harm to the transmission. With our r-pod model 171 I would easily push it around our driveway by hand. But you need a good swiveling trailer jack caster wheel I found the Bal brand worked best with the three caster wheels that I tried. The other two were very difficult to swivel when turning direction.

Guys, Thanks for all of you input. I don't think it is worth the risk of damaging the trans in my John Deere. It may be over kill, but I think I will go with the http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jack/Trailer-Valet/STC-V211.html - trailer valet . Thanks again!!

Does anyone know if the Trailer Valet mounting bracket will interfere with the brackets for a Fastway E-2 WDH installed on a 179?

| Depending on how much you will need to move it, with a wheel attached to the the lifter , you may be able to push it. I have 4 wheel dollies from Harbor Freight that I move my old cars around on , with two pusher people, and it is not hard. |
