DW & I saw our first R Pod last October while we were camping in our popup at Myrtle Beach State Park. Every since then we have been talking, researching, lurking in website forums,, etc.
We finally bit the bullet today. Our 179 is on order & we will pick it up in March. I retire the end of March & cannot wait to get the pod on the road. DW still has to work another year so I have to contain my enthusiasm!!

Over 5 years and we never came up with an official name, it has always been "the pod".

We call ours "the Pod". The uppercase "P" was DW's idea. She's the creative one.

Big day for us, we are picking up our 182G this afternoon from the dealership.  We have sold our diesel truck and 26' trailer with slide.  We will now be traveling in 2013 Ford Explorer w/R-Pod in tow.  We are very excited but nervous too.  Will we really be able to leave all the extra stuff behind and make this work? I think we can, but what a change!!  I'm looking forward to lightning up, but I keep wondering, where will I put my clothes?   There will be my husband Warren, myself, Karen, our 8 year old son Sam (our late in life baby) and often times, my sweet brother (that has down-syndrome), and last but not least our golden-doodle Molly.

Thinking about naming it the DoodlePod, but haven't decided for sure.

Let the adventure begin!!Thumbs Up

Bringing my clothing is still the biggest challenge.  I am putting the shelf above the bed in my pod.  That will solve the problem.  I love the Garage!  THe only thing I want but don't have room for in this trailer vs. the one I sold is my motorcycle.  Oh well...  Bikes can go in the truck.

We are going down the same road here.  We just sold our 35ft 5th wheel, moving to a 179.  Downsizing and determining what earns it keep does require a reassessment from past travel lives.  Anxious to hear how it works for you...we get our Rpod in March.  Looks containers/storage boxes for the truck is part of the solution.

Enjoy...happy travels in the new 182G.

Welcome, Karen.  We somewhat downsized when we bought our pod, going from a popup which was nearly 30 feet long when open, to the 17 foot pod.  You'll adjust.  Now we've gone the other way and own a 26 foot TT.
