The springs mods have begun. We removed the oven and wonder if we can replace the 120v plug with a 12v plug? It seemed easy enough to unscrew the old one but wasn't sure if the same 'circuit' is used (we are not electrically savvy)?

No. 120v is a totally different animal on a totally different circuit.

Thanks! Guess we'll just leave it or flip it around and access it from the new 'cabinet' over the fridge.

Why do you want a 12V plug in that area anyway?

Only because there was an electrical wire available once we took out the oven and it was as good a place as any to charge a phone if we were off the grid. But we'll just leave it. Didn't think removing the socket and having a live wire there was wise.

Instead of a 12v plug, why not put one of those outlets with USB receptacles there? They use 120v to power.
