I'm not impressed with the Aussie grill that came with my 182 Rpod. I'm a Weber guy through and through and would like to switch to a Q 220/1220, but I've seen in another post that this grill, as is, would be incompatible because of the built in regulator trying to regulate the already regulated gas coming from the tank. Any suggestions?

I'm still using the Blue Rhino one that came with my 181g 4 years ago.  Pretty soon I'm going to have to start looking for a decent grill without an existing regulator.  Just aren't many low pressure ones that I've been too thrilled with so far.

Weber would never advise you do this but you could possibly remove the regulator from it and then hook up to your existed low pressure line back there.  I've seen a person do that with a Coleman grill to accomplish something similar.

I installed a Y-Splitter on my 30# tank to hook up my Weber Q. It bypasses the Pod regulator.   I do have the optional cart for it, so I toss it into the Pod when travelling.  I only cable locked it to my trailer frame once at a large outdoor event for security. Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with people walking away with the grill.

Oh this is an easy one...

These guys make the adapter to screw onto your Weber:
http://www.caloreequipment.com/

They had so many requests, they tooled up for the adapter just for the Q.

Take off your regulator, install the adapter, then use the hose that came with your Blue Rhino, or get a new one from Calore!

Now, just plug into the back near your garage like before!

I'm a Weber snob, wouldn't use any other gas grill if I can help it.

I'll have to bookmark that one myself!

Ahhh! Buffalo steaks and roast potatoes on the Q in Custer Sate Park. The good life!

I travel with a http://www.amazon.com/Worthington-281149-1-Gallon-Cylinder-Prevention/dp/B000SKX63U - One Gallon Worthington tank for my Q and a http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009PUQAK - Coleman High Pressure Hose

I haven't had any problem getting the one gallon tank filled, but have heard of issues. It also serves as an emergency backup for the pod 20 pounder. On a month long cross country trip I refilled both tanks once.

After breaking two of the Weber branded plastic adapter hoses, I have found the Coleman "wheel" adapter to be much sturdier.

I also found a plastic tub w/lid @ Lowes in which the Q, hose and BBQ tools fit perfectly and stow in the back of my TV w/no odor.

Wouldn't leave home without my Q!

Travis,

The part is cheap, like $6 or so.  Those guys even have long hoses, etc you can buy.

The Q rocks!

You know if the weber regulator comes off easily for the swap out?  Haven't had to replace my factory grill yet but probably happening this season.  Would be nice to have all the info ready to change over to something like this.

Never owned a Weber Q before, they often seem to come with good reviews by a lot of folks here.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll order the adapter immediately. I figured I could remove the regulator but didn't want any surprises like bastard threads, etc. For Kymooses, the Q is the best gas grill on the market, bar none! Three different sizes with side tables, but most importantly an enameled cast iron grill rack to hold the heat and sear like nothing else!

Let us know eventually how the adapter fairs for ya.  Would love to keep track of this one for my own use eventually.
