I did a 'search', if this has been covered already - Sorry.

I have been unhappy about the lack of sturdy hooks in the 'kitchen' area of my 171, feeling that the floor of the built-in cupboard is too flimsy for screw-in hooks. I decided to add a 'shelf' under the cupboard. I took a 30" long 1x4 hard wood board, rounded the front edge, stained it and inletted it for the under-cupboard light. I used 4 brass 3" long 10x24 screws trimmed with a hacksaw to about 2 1/2", with a brass washer above the cupboard floor, a 1/4 inch spacer between the floor and the new shelf, and another washer between the shelf and a brass cap nut, the nut for 'purty'.

There are several available sliding under-shelf mug hooks, the one I chose was by Rovel, I can always add screwed-in hooks later if desired.

A couple of provisos -
I am not sure about wiring in the cupboard floor so was careful in my drilling, and the cupboard floor's so flimsy, I am not putting any heavy weight on it.

Hopefully, my pic is attached, I had to 'crop it' severely to be acceptable, sorry.
