Has anyone replaced the TV antenna on the 2014 R Pod model .. We really are not happy with the reception this antenna provides and would like to upgrade. Has anyone done this and if so what did you upgrade to.

We have a 2014 178 and think the reception is better than adequate. We live on the Space Coast of Florida and the Orlando and Daytona stations (about 40 miles away) come in strong. Make sure your coax is wired correctly, the amplifier is turned on and your TV is set to the correct source.

I forgot to mention, let the TV scan for the channels available in your viewing area.

Thanks we do the channel scan and will double check the cable. We are just not happy with the quality of the antenna . Our 2010 had a different antenna that I feel worked better. Got more channels.. I would really like to replace it with a higher quality product.

Our last pod was a 2010 173 that had the same antenna as your 2010. We took it on a 6000 mile trip and had good reception, but no better than we receive with the antenna on our 178. We do use cable whenever it is available, but otherwise the antenna does an adequate job.
Perhaps if we stayed in remote rustic state or COE parks it would be a different story, but we are not into dry camping.

Omni directional antennas are always a compromise.. there really isn't a "better"..
