My Rpod 179 lives in a 12x24 storage garage with a 110 outlet. Is it better to plug in the trailer to 110 or put the battery on a 12 volt trickle charge? ------------- Buick Enclave 2014 Rpod 179 Interested in cycling & kayaks |

For the Winter, I remove my batteries (I have two) and keep them in my basement throughout the Winter. I charge them using a Norco Genius charger, then leave them until the Spring. When your Pod is plugged in to shore power, your converter is charging your battery. I leave ours plugged in but check the battery water level periodically. The converter will use about 35 watts 24/7, so over 800 watts each day. You'll use less using a trickle charger. Or, charge them every 30 days overnight, then no need for the trickle charger. I would just unplug if not using the pod for a guestroom, hideout, man cave etc.. go out and plug in once a month for a day.
