Hi, We are still researching campers but think we have narrowed our decision down to the RPOD..(Our dream is a small Airstream $$$ dream for now :)However, we think the RPOD 179 is appropriate for us, nice size, good features, within budget & towing capabilities, etc... just worried about leaks and expensive maintenance as we will have to store it in an outside facility. Any thoughts??? This will be our FIRST camper experience!!! Thanks in advance for any input

Our 2011 R-Pod is stored outdoors. I don't like it but do not have an inside storage close by or affordable. In the summer months it sets on our side driveway. I was it on a regular basis and wax it twice a year. After winterizing I cover it with a Factory Forest River cover, I know its a little expensive but it keeps it dry in the winter and keeps ice from building up on the exterior that might cause problems due to expansion as water freezes. We have never had one leak or problem with the roof. The Pod roof is one piece fiberglass. Every spring I get out the ladder and check every exterior joint , and so far no problem. Never had a leak, squeak, rattle, loose screw nut or bolt.

We are on our second R-pod, we started with a 2010 171(bought in aug of 2009) and recently upgraded to a 179. We have had no problems with either one leaking. Our pod spends the winter in our driveway, in northern Vermont. They are very durable.

Thanks! It's so good to hear , we are so excited, I do wish I had a nice garage to store it but getting a cover will have to do. Just want to make sure we are making a good choice! Thumbs Up I guess for 2 adults and 2 small spoiled doggies the 179 should be just right. We'll be towing with either a Tacoma or a Highlander.

We just spent 37 nights on our trip to Chincoteague.Va and Cape Hatteras,NC. The room and set up on the 179 is really nice!

We bought our first RV just over a year ago. A 2014 RPod 178. We took one 600 mile shake down trip to to Assateague Island National seashore, then parked it next to the wood piles for the winter (New Jersey). In the spring we took a couple of short 200-300 mile trips. Then, we took off on a 8,000+ mile cross country trip to CA, Oregon, Washington and back. Then we did another couple of small local trips.

No leaks, no breakdowns, no real problems except not enough time to do more camping.

It works.

That's so great! Do y'all recommend a good dealer? I'm down in FL but am willing to travel for a good deal.

Here's a picture of my Pod in storage behind my house in last Winter (February 2013) here in Connecticut . Never had a leak, even in the storage areas.

One of the main selling point on my rpod 179 was the one piece see less roof.
