Welcome trampdogg1. If your trailer was not refitted with the fender lights and the 3 identification lights on the upper rear of the trailer then you should contact the local Forest River dealer in your area to have the recall work done. Hopefully one the other Podders that are north of the border can help you with this issue. Goose

Personally if I did not have the problematic and ugly spoiler I'd count myself fortunate!   NO way would I let them add one....I'm sure I could come up with a more elegant solution if I had to have the lights.   My pod looks like crap with the wavy edge of the spoiler and the sloppy sealant work....
The fender lights could also be done in a different way- for one I'd like them on the very edge of the fenders to gauge width in a tight spot instead of in from the edge a few inches like FR does....

This summer at the, International Rally, the 'pod next to us had a spoiler and new fenders installed so his lighting could comply with federal standards.  The installation was done by Forest River at no charge, on his 5 year old 2009 model pod, which he had bought used.  FR made the installation a priority for his safety on the trip home, I would think any FR dealer should too.  (It's not like they have to do it for free!)  If not, contact FR.

Yup, as the Dingo's said you'll have no problem getting this done still.

Budward, I've had no problems with the recall light bar on mine.  I agree about the fender lights.  Personally I would prefer this surface-mount solution (link below).  The wires that run under the fender will get ripped off some day by road debris, for starters.

There's no time limit on recalls.  As techntrek said, contact your dealer and setup an appointment.

But, make sure its a shop you trust to do the work.  As you can see from this thread, others have had issues with sloppy work.  Personally, I'm very happy with the retrofit done on mine.

I like those lights too, one of my enclosed trailers uses them.
But-  they won't work on my 179 as the slide out only clears the fender by about a half inch.Ouch

Well that sucks.  At the very least I would want the wiring run on the outer surface using a wiring race/cover like that other model has.

I made my own light bar because I did not like what I saw that Forest River came up with and it has none of the issues that seem to plague those that have them. I placed the fender lights close to the edge of the fender and ran the wires on the inside in a flexible hose, I may redo that part in the future.   Goose

Stinnet R.V. in Clarksville Indiana did my 2011 RP-172 under the recall and did an outstanding job. It looks factory , no sloppy job here.

Can't take it out?  Is that because they pack them in with no aisles?  Can you even walk in to it if you need to get something?

Yes you need the letter, all you have to do is call or email FR. Ours was done, with no issues yet, by our local dealer. $110 a month?? In a couple winters you could have paid for a simple enclosure..

No.  Your dealer should be working closely enough with Forest River that you don't need it.  The only thing they'll need is your VIN.

What is this light issue about? Appears older model. Travis, is that a concern on 2011 182G?

Depends on when your 182g was actually manufactured.  You' need a spoiler bar with 3 red Leds on the back at the top of the curve on the rear end, and yellow/red Fender lights on the your wheel fenders.

My 2011 181g had the spoiler direct from factory, but I as an example did not have the fender lights, and got mine put on at a local dealer.

Travis we do have a light bar at the top. There is also I recall on fender, but I thought they were reflectors. Don't know if they are wired. Pod is in storage, so we will stop by tomorrow when we go out. We pass storage going and coming from town. Very convenient to say "hello." :)

My 2011 came without spoiler and lights, and no fender lights. All were added under the recall.

We are taking Pod in on the 5th for warranty work (electric water heater). Guess we will have to look into lights on fenders. Jim said they are only reflectors.

No, they are wired lights.  Mine had reflective stickers on them previously but actual lights were put on under warranty.

Thanks, Travis. 81 yesterday, 62 this morning, and I'm thinking what a wasted day. We could have been camping, but I have oral surgery this morning. :(

We were just camping last weekend and my wife said this morning she wants to get out again.  I may have to put off winterizing...

All went well yesterday. A 7-10 day wait for results. C-Scan showed no abnormalities, so surgeon feels this is a systemic issue, i.e. auto-immune issue with all my growing list of food allergies and prescription drugs.
