We have been camping for years from tents to travel trailers. First with our children and then our grandchildren. My husband retires next year and we would like to to do some traveling in Canada and USA. We bought a 2010 171 rpod in May. Have had it out 3 times and and will be camping Thanksgiving weekend. Love it. Very well made. The rpod forum is a wonderful idea. We had a few issues and found the answers on the Forum. That is a great resource. Only problem so far is that when it rains the windows cannot be open. We use to have a camper that they would flip out. It would be nice if even one window would open out.

Welcome. I have the same complaint on the windows. I never looked into it, but I'm sure you can buy stick-on covers that will take care of that problem. Similar to the covers you can buy for trucks, that allow you to keep the windows cracked open in the rain.

Howdy! We pick up our 2009 171 on Saturday morning. What other issues have you had? I never even considered the windows (our T@B right now has windows that flip up).

No real issues except for the fact we were not use to all this modern technology. Everything at the flick of a switch. If you want the fridge, furnace, AC, or water heater on all you do is turn on the switch. When we started camping again with the Grandchildren we started back with the basics, a tent, so this was a real change. Our old camper you had to light everything so we love all the new technology but had to check with the Forum on how to use some of it. The Forum is VERY helpful for many different topics.. So enjoy your new camper.

The dome is useful when it rains. We just put up the top and sides and it keeps the rain away from the windows. It's only a few minute setup if you don't fuss with all the trimmings. I made a door holder with a pvs pipe and a bungee cord to keep the door at 90ยบ so it will stay put.
