Dear Rpod Campers,

I recently moved to Sc from NY and had my 2011 Rpod 171 serviced a Blevins Motors in Potsdam, NY. After packing checking my Rpod and hooking it up I noticed that the dealers scratched up my aluminum alloy rims when they greased the wheels and serviced my Rpod.

I think that they must have used a tire machine on them as there are severe scraps in a circular motion which I did not see prior to taking my Rpod to the dealer for service.

I realize that this is a situation where it is there word against mine and I am now living in SC.  I plan on calling the RV dealer to make them aware of this, but I also realize that I may have to purchase new rims myself.

I know that I am being a bit OCD, but really RV's are an expensive toy and I want to take care of my Rpod as best possible.

Does anyone have any tire rim company recommendations with aluminum alloy rims to replace the ones on my 2011 Rpod 171 ?

Thanks for your inout...

How badly scratched? Can they be repaired, polished, repainted?

I have had a lot of Porsche rims repaired.

Hi Cap N' Cray,

Thank you for your reply in regards to possibly repairing my tire rims.  I think that they could be repaired or repainted but I am unaware of any companies which do this.

I now live in Bluffton, SC in regards to possible repair shops in the local area.  Do you have any company names/ recommendations in regards to a company that does this type of repair work ?

Thanks Again,

Hi Randy,

Might try local tire/rim shops and get some recommendations. There are a lot of places and price range. Do a search on alloy rim repair.

You can do it yourself. There are kits too.

Can you post some photos?

Good luck.

I wouldn't know why they would demount the tires for packing bearings.  Which side is it on?  Could you have brushed up against a curb or a rock?

Agreed, very doubtful they dismounted your tires. Pictures would be very helpful here, over the years I have also had repaired, and restored on my own, a few rims. But need to see the damage to know which route is best.
