Well the hubby and I purchased our very first camper (we are tenters), and we are so happy. We did a ton of research and picked the r-pod due to we felt it would fit our needs (we like to camp in the middle of nowhere) and that our 1996 Tacoma can do the job. We live in Colorado and we can't wait to camp in our beautiful state. Happy camping everyone and thank you for your informative posts.

We just returned from another 19 day vacation in Colorado. We love it there & plan to retire there in way too many years.

Welcome to the group(s), Rpod and dry camping.  I use the microwave to store bread and other soft goods in, I know the AC works from being plugged in when in my driveway and have never camped in a campground where hookups are offered.  Like you we camp to get away, get remote and get away from civilization.  There is only 1 thing I wish the POD had and that is a second water tank. 2 1/2  to 3 days max on the 36 gallons.......waaaa

After dry camping for two days, I think we could probably get a week out of our fresh water. But we went to a local hotsprings to shower in their shower house.

After 5 showers in 3 days on the road last week (2 of those showers by teen and pre-teen girls), we still had a half-tank of fresh water.

Since we have had many years tenting (we could make 7 gallons last five days) we are very ultra conservative with water. We also invested in baby wipes for clean-up too. Having a large water tank is a bit overwhelming but it'll be nice.

We loved CO, too, just not the 8000-10000 feet elevations.  Made for some difficult breathing.  Loved the views though.

Did you make it up to Pike's Peak yet?    +- 14,000 ft elevation, I'll never forget my first trip up there in the 70's.   Toyota pickup, carbureted, ran too rich of course, felt like it had 25hp, then when we finally got to the top I got winded just walking around the truck LOL

Yup, we did Pike's via the cog railroad a few days ago.  Foggy at first but we got some clearing which allowed us to see.... the tops of the cloud deck below.  A better view than I got in '86 when I was there last.  It was just all fog then.
