Hello everyone, Please bear with me. Still trying to learn how the forum works. We have a 2014 R-172. We want a local awning business to make us an awning. Can someone with a recently bought R Dome tell me what the O.D. round dimension is on the welt. This is the piece that is threaded into the "c" extrusion track that is along the upper edge of the pod side. From reading other discussions this track opening I.D. is 0.563" or 14mm. This is the size of my track and a piece of 1/2"(0.50") stainless tubing slides easily into the track with a little bit of play. So, i assume that the welt must be smaller than the 0.563" slot. It's called "keder tape". It's from the sailing world. Only comes in like 3 sizes. Assuming you want to do a custom awning of some sort, the keder can be bought by the foot from sail maker supply stores.
