Didn't see anything in a search for this:

First time out with 2014 178. When turning on the water pump it runs as I suppose it should then shuts off. But, then there is a constant hum coming from the pump (at least the area where pump is located). So, we turned it off and only back on when needed so as not to burn it out.

Anyone have this problem? Does this sound 'normal?' Or should I head back to the dealer?

Thanks.

Do you have water in the fresh water tank?  This may be obvious to you, but you don't use the pump when you are hooked up to city water.  Other than that, no ideas.

If you are drawing water from the fresh water tank it should sound like a loud hum, usually cycling on and off depending on how much water you are using.  If the fresh water tank is empty it is a very quiet hum since it is just pumping air.  No worries about running it dry, it is supposed to be ok with that (not that I would want to for very long).

Thanks folks for the information. The tank had water and we were not hooked up to a city line, but after we used the sink the louder sound went away and only the quieter hum was heard. It sounded as if the pump wanted to run but was stuck. But, when we used water again we got the louder pump sound again. I just wanted to make sure I didn't burn it out.
