We have owned the RP178 for 3 weeks. We have only hauled it home from the dealer. About 200 miles.
The radio has been fine until a week ago. It is sitting in our yard, plugged in since getting home. Always locked. In the past week, we will walk past the camper & you can hear the radio playing softly. Sometimes indoor speakers, sometimes out door speakers, sometimes both. I just walked past, noticed it playing, unlocked the door, went inside, turned it off. Not 2 minutes later, when taking the second dog out for its morning constitutional, the radio was back on! Anyone experienced this? Have we pushed a button on it, that has caused this?
Perplexed.....

Yes use to come on all the time when I first got it. I would cut it off and it would cut itself back on sometimes in a matter of minutes, sometime hours. I never figured out why but for some reason it now has quit coming on. I did not do anything to stop it, it just quit on it own. I suppose it could start doing it again. Be bad if it did at a campground in the middle of the night.

It does have an alarm clock setting. Could it have been set when someone set the clock on it. Is something sitting on the remote and pushing on the buttons?

Just a shot in the dark since I'm not familiar with your exact model radio. However some radios have a mute function combined with the on/off button. Mute is accomplished by a short push of the on/off button; turning the radio on requires a longer push and hold. Sometimes the radio will "unmute" itself after a short time if not really turned off. If this doesn't help check for Doug's spooks under the Pod.

Our Jensen radio did the same thing I think it was a alarm setting. We need to read the manual to understand the alarm function when we are not so busy.

I kinda have the opposite problem-  on our new 179, which came home today-  I cannot get the radio to come ON unless I use the remote.   Pressing the power button on top left will turn it off, but not on.  Ouch
