It seems the safety chains on my trailer are hanging a little low when connected to my TV.  I'm concerned it may come in contact with the road and debris while traveling.

Has anyone ever tried to shorten the length of the safety chains?  Is it a good idea to do that?

Thanks

Cody

As you make turns one side will get closer to the ground and the other side will raise.  You can use a simple device to keep them from dragging.  Here is an example.

Just twist each chain until the length shortens up enough to prevent dragging. Do not twist the 2 chains together.

Ditto.  However, DO cross the chains once so it will cradle the hitch if it falls.
