It would be nice to beef up the end panels for the bench seats of the dinette from the 1/8th inch board.  We had to remove ours and replace them with 1/2 inch plywood because the vinyl trim pieces were pulling out. We removed the vinyl covered pieces and formed a one piece end panel and have had no problems since. Stained them to match the cabinets.

We did the same except I used cypress wood. If I remember ours was cardboard with material stapled to it and it kept bending over.

I think cypress wood is an excellent choice.

I would love to have a small dinette table or none at all,  with a continual bench (U shaped).  We are only inside during the day or evening if it rains.  Otherwise, we're outside until bedtime.

our trim piece for the dinette seat also failed.  I took several ideas from other forum posts and put them together for a new end panel and shoe storage area.

That's a great idea! I'll see if I can do the same! Shoes are constantly in the way.

Did your POD come white or did you paint it? I like it. Our `182G has trim at dinette bench that is not painted. It bothers me so I see me doing something about that.

Yes, our 2009 173 Pod came in the white stain color.  We visited the factory several year ago and the people there said that the white color was tried but discontinued pretty quickly.  I don't know how many white ones were made, but apparently not very many.

we love our pod and have modified it a lot

love it! That's a fantastic idea! Our bench end pieces are so thin, the vinyl is wrapped around to the back, then stapled, with the staples poking through to the front! I can see myself changing out these pieces soon.

That button at the top of the remote?
That's the power button..press it.
Turn it all off.
Go outside!
