I was inspecting the Scissor Jacks on my R178 and I noticed that the top portion of the jacks seemed to be lightly welded to the bottom of the frame.

I thought this may prove problematic if I had to replace the scissor jacks some day due to damage, etc.

Has anyone noticed if the scissor jacks on their pod were also welded?  Can anyone share their experience with having to replace a damaged jack?

I cut the welds with a slitting wheel and a Dremel tool, then removed the screws.  I painted the raw metal with rustoleum then screwed the new jack in place.

Thanks Keith.  I guess Forest River didn't want these to be removed easily but I'm glad the welds aren't very strong.
