Hi!  We are new to this board.  Recently purchased a used 2013 178 Pod...just had our first camping excursion this weekend.  We turned on the AC for the first time and it smelt horrible...like dirty socks in sewage! We were previously tent campers so never had the luxury of AC until now, but the smell was so nasty that we couldn't use it.  Anyone have any idea what this could be or ideas to help clean or eliminate odor?

Thanks so much in advance!Smile

A small dead critter? Sounds like a trip up a ladder to take the hood off is in order.

I agree that it could be some animal that died. We have frogs around our house and they liked our camper for places to crawl into during the day, then at night they would come out of there hiding places. One of those places they would hide would be the AC. Could be a bird nest with baby birds, Carolina Wrens like small safe places for there nests. Unhappy

Could also be that while the pod was stored, water did not drain out from the AC condensation tray and the residue became moldy. Small drain holes maybe blocked.
rpod has to be level to run AC unit. Maybe it was stored with the tongue up and rpod not level.
also make sure there is water in the shower drain and sink drain to prevent gasses to come up
inside the pod.  Pour water down the sink and shower.

Just had a chance look pull cover off...don't see a filter...unsure which holes should drain...or where drain tray is located
