I have an r dome that came with my RP 151. This is a very small trailer. I am looking to sell it to someone who has a 171. Are all r domes the same size? I do know there are 2 different sizes of channels.

I'm only marginally qualified to answer this question, but I'll start the discussion. There are/were two different track sizes, but it had more to do with age than model. Older models such as yours had a smaller track. I think there were probably two different sizes of domes too, one for the smaller 150 series and a larger one for the newer 170 series. Not sure on this; a better expert will jump in here. Now, with the 180 series and 178/179 there is an even larger dome being created, along with larger covers. Like I said my info is suspect so others please jump in.

No they are not the same size, I bought a 172 3 1/2 years ago the dealer installed a R-dome for a 151 it was 18" short on both ends. It took me a year to convince the dealer that they had given me the wrong size of dome, they also told me there was nothing they could do for me since the track is installed by the factory and they had changed the track size. I convinced them to finally give me the wright size of dome and track and I would install it myself.

There are 3 sizes of dome, and two sizes of keder rail.

I just measured the keder on the dome that came with my rp 151. It is 12' So I guess if you have 12' of the smaller size channel on your trailer then mine will fit.

The different rails have different widths as well as lengths. The newer domes will not fit older rails and vice versa.
