 Wife and I picked up a 2011 ford F150 with a 3.5 v/6 Eco boost. What a difference from the 4.3 v/6 on the 06 Chevy . Got to test pull with the ford. Moe

I read they did some testing with aluminum bodies mixed into fleet buys along with steel ones. Sounds like users didn't know the difference. I would think they would have seen performance/mileage differences but apparently the trucks worked/held up the same. Well...I bought a 2013 F 150 5 liter (302 cu in) with the aluminum panels. The only thing I've noticed so far is the panels on the drivers door "shimmey" when I close the door. Mileage is between 18 and 22 highway (depends on hills, winds ect.), and drops to 10 to 12 with the pod on the back. ------------- Eddy the Escape Pod...177 Ford F150 |
