My wife, Melanie, and I live in St. Augustine. We purchased our new 171 back in June of this year.  I had neck surgery a week later and we were unable to use the rpod until September. That was torture. We have since camped twice and have two more trips planned before year's end.  We absolutely love our pod.

Thanks to this forum I was able to learn so much about our new toy.  We were tent campers for years and there was so much to learn.  In fact, this site was one of the reasons we decided to purchase our pod.

I am a confirmed forum "lurker."  I read several internet forums almost daily and have never felt compelled to post until now.  You guys have one of the most informative and helpful sites I have seen.  No question is too silly and in these times where civility seems to be a thing of the past, kindness and respect are the norm here.  Thanks to all for making our entrance into the world of podding so much easier.

Greeting from another Saint Augustine Pod owner!  You make 3 of us now on here.  A senior moment is beating me over the head so I can't remember who the other one is.

Pictures and more pictures are required as proof of camping or it didn't happen.LOL

Welcome, Cajunsoul.  It is very affirming for the admins (me, TerryM, and rpodcamper) to read posts like this.  We work hard to do the stuff you mention in your post, with one addition that isn't very visible because we are so successful - keep the spammers out.  You wouldn't believe how many we block compared to the rare few that get a post or two on here before we nuke them.  We are here because we own pods, too.  Less obvious but mentioned many times is we welcome ex-podders and those that haven't ever owned a pod.

We've mentioned before that there is one other person to thank, our silent benefactor who keeps this site online at his expense AND without ads.

We are in Fort Myers! Not all the time, as we are snowbirds.  Looking forward to some camping in the pod.  But first, we have to head back to 25 degree nights so we can celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Not looking forward to cold temperatures for six full weeks!!!

You can satisfy your cravings just a bit if you get up to northern Michigan, we are currently getting a bit of snow, supposed to get 1", not much but enough to put the pod into storage until next spring.

To The Tweeners:

Was nice meeting you guys at Faver-Dykes State Park south of Saint Augustine, FL on Veterans Day weekend.  It's fun running into other r-poders.  It's sort of like meeting up with someone you have met in the past and are glad to see again.  Maybe we will run into you guys again somewhere else.  Good luck with the sink leak problem and let us know how it went.

Safe and happy camping.

Tom & Gloria -

It was fun running into you as well.  Enjoy the rest of your trip.  If you are looking for GREAT fish tacos while you are staying at Gamble Rogers this week head to the Golden Lion just north of SR 100 in Flagler Beach on A1A...one of our favorite spots on a beautiful day.

Enjoy Smile

Some more Florida Newbies.
My Wife and I just recently purchased an r.pod R177, 2014 used ? believe it or.used 1 time.
We live in Sebastian Fl. and we transitioned from Scamp 5th, wheel to this due to knees and so forth, so by now you know we are not spring chickens, but cant give up the travel/camping, we have owned 10 RV's since 1994.
Is there a r.pod group or gathering in Fl.?
Regards, rpodD2

Our TV is a 1994 Chev k1500

Mike, Jody:

Thanks for the suggestion.  The fish tacos were great and we loved the beach at Gamble-Rogers State Park except for the last day when we had a 40 mph gale, which blew sand everywhere including into our bed.  But, we will go back again next year anyway.  Had a great time and are looking forward to our next trip into the Florida Panhandle... going to Top Sail State Park, another beach type park.

Hey Dan:

Welcome to the forum and don't worry about podders in Florida.  My wife and I run into them everywhere and it's just like meeting old friends.  We all seem to gravitate to each other when in the same parks and there are many in Florida - many podders and parks that is.  Hope to catch you sometime. We are always easy to find with our three travelling shelties.

Welcome rpodD2...we are new to the group as well and hoping for a Florida gathering at sometime. We have camped at Sebastian State Park many times in the past but not with the Pod yet.  Would love to go back but the "bugs" were so bad the last time we couldn't hardly stand it!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the fish tacos Tom & Gloria...and the wind has been crazy along the east coast this November!
