Hello R-Pod people. My wife and I became new grandparents two weeks ago and new Podders yesterday.

We bought a used 2010 R-177. No owner's manual, so I need you wisdom.

Looking from the inside of the A/C, I don't see any filters. Where to buy some and how do they insert? In the middle is a door (slide) that lets in more or less air, it does no have a filter.

Where can I get some Frog stickers?

Thank you for your help.
John

The red circles are where your filters are, I'm sure they are there you just might not see them.  The middle is just for more air flow.

For Frog Stickers or filters if you happen to need them please contact....

I assure you that the manual that came with my r-pod is not at all useful.  Its very generic and speaks only to generalities.  Specifics such as 'where is the water pump located' or 'what size are the lug nuts' or a wiring guide are not to be found.  This lack of detail (and my criticism) isn't specific to r-pods, this is common to most all travel trailers.

The filters are permanent.  You remove them, wash them with soap and water and then replace them.

I shined a flashlight up in the groves where they are suppose to be. I don't see any filters. All I see is wires and tubing.
I called Lindsay Kring Parts Administrator 574-642-3119 twice and left her a message to call me back.

^ this.

2nd post has the number to call to order them.

However I think I would contact who I bought the Pod from and ask them where the filters are.  They are rather expensive and I would not want to buy a set if I didn't have to.

These comments all seem to be related to a Dometic AC.  My 2010 173 came with a Coleman unit and it is set up entirely differently.

Sleepless.. Have never seen what the coleman looks like, by the OP's description, sounds like a dometic.. can you post a pic of the coleman, and describe or show where/how thefilters are and mount?

I installed my first Coleman roof A/C in a motor home we had in 1979, and every motor home or TT we have owned since then has had a Coleman unit, except for a 2007 Aerolite Zoom which had a very noisy Dometic 13.5K unit.  Our 2010 has an 11K Coleman unit, but the pod and all the literature are in storage, and have been traded in on a 2014 178.  I will try to take a photo of the inside housing in the next few days.  Yes, I know what a Coleman (and a Dometic) look like and don't look forward to the noisy Dometic that will be in our new 178.

By the way, our Coleman 11K has been discontinued, but the cabin portion looks very similar to the newer Coleman units except for the heat pump models.  I checked online for a photo or illustration, but could only find them for the roof top portion.  I even checked the Airxcel web site.

I did find an article showing how to service the Coleman filters.  The inside cover is virtually the same as mine although it is a different model.

New maintenance question. What is the white chunks of stuff come rolling out of the hot water heater tank when I drained it. What to do?

Is there a filter or any maint. that needs to be done to the Pod heater?

That is the lime scale and sediment from  your anode rod.  Spray it out with the garden hose to get some of the extra out.

kymooses has it right with cleaning out the tank, put the sprayer for the hose in the drain opening and move it in different directions and fill the tank somewhat. Then drain the tank and repeat a few times until the scale stops coming out. Goose
