I have a suburban hot water heater (maybe everybody does).  Any preference on aluminum vs magnesium rods?  And how do you know what length?  I was looking at the camco replacement on amazon.  hogone

I replaced mine for the first time at the beginning of the summer with an aluminum rod. The original one lasted for three years for us and probably would have work fine this year as we really have not camped much.   Goose
