After a facefull of water two years in a row today I remembered to open the hot water tap prior to removing the plug.  Amazing what removing the pressure from the system can do...

The Sacrificial Anode was almost gone, so I got a new one today for next season.  When we are ready to go I want to go and not find out I forgot to replace it.

It would have been easier to take this year. I shaved off the beard I wore for 40 years that the last two times dripped for a while.

Wow 40 years. I am jealous. I wore a beard for 10 years. I shaved it off right before I met my wife. She hates facial hair so I have not been able to grown it back. She let me grow a mustache for a month last November for charity but she asked me to shave it off as soon as the month was over.

My beard was totally white and I was looking for work. I was told to dye it or shave it if I wanted to not look old. I shaved and got a job right away.

As it turns out I like the ease and low maintenance of being clean shaven. Keeping my beard under control was time consuming.

I've always wondered if I would have to do the same since I went gray fast and early, as much as I'm against coloring my hair or beard.  Little chance of me getting laid off permanently, but not impossible.

I grew a beard for the opposite reason.  Even only shaving every 2-3 days was still maintenance 3 days a week and I dreaded it.  Now with a beard I trim it once a week.  I prefer being clean-shaven, just not the work it took.
