Any advice on getting the blasted spare tire cover on? It says it's for a 14" wheel, but.....

Although it is for a 14" wheel, 14" tires come in several diameters (sizes).  My guess is that the cover is made for a smaller 14" tire than you have.

I couldn't even get the factory cover off the factory tire. I swear they grew that tire inside the cover! I knew if I ever got it off I would never get it back on. I trashed the factory cover and bought an aftermarket cover that fit. Good luck.

I took mine off once.

The elastic in mine gradually "died" so I bought a new cover last month.  Fits tightly, but tends to hold a little rain water during our current rainy season inn Florida.  Time to create a weep hole at the bottom of the cover.

Little "brass" grommets from the hardware store work great for weep holes.

Lost ours the second day out on our first trip, decided that there had to be a better way. Have not had any trouble since I made the tire cover.   Goose

Was easy to make, a sheet and a half of aluminum, a few 1/8 inch pop rivets and 4 short pieces of 3/4 inch aluminum angle so that it can not slide off. I did move the spare tire hitch into the receiver about an inch and a quarter so that it is closer to the rear of the trailer.   Goose
