Just got our new r-pod 177 "TARDIS" (bigger on inside than outside, for you Dr. Who fans) and I can't figure out how to open the roof vent and turn on the fan. I am afraid I am going to break it trying. Can someone please tell me how to do this? Thanks.

Welcome.  There should be a knob you turn to crank the lid up, then another knob with numbers on it to turn it on.  There is an interlock switch which prevents the fan from running until the vent is open about an inch.  So, are you going to paint your pod dark blue?

The lid sometimes sticks to the weather/rubber strip on top of the pod which makes it difficult to open.  I know, it feels like your going to break something forcing it open, I've been lucky thus far.  If need be, get a ladder out and gently assist with the opening from the top if someone can be in the bathroom with the crank.  I think this is what you may have been asking.  And then as Techntrek advised, the fan should go on with the fan speed turn knob.  Hopefully that makes sense.

Anyone add a Airmaxx vent cover?  Hard job or simple install?  Worth it?

Sorry if I hijacked the post.  Same category. Embarrassed

I installed a Fantastic vent cover on mine.  Very simple to install.  Just remove 4 of the screws on the existing vent on the roof, slip the mounting hardware on the 4 longer screws that comes with the kit, re-caulk and you are done.

Don't use a regular vent cover.  They impede the flow of air when used with a Fantastic fan unit.
