We have had a problem with our awning getting out of it's track, seems to be to loose in an area of the track, has anybody had the same problem and found a solution? many thanks ------------- Manon |

Are you talking about your R-Dome? Is this something that came with your Pod or did you buy it afterwards? Thanks to both of you, the dome came with the pod when we bought it, how can we know if we have the right one? It seems to be looser in one area of the slot and it seemed to be OK at first. It is not wide enough to attach both sides on the sides of the pod with the suction cups, we always end up having to attach one side to the front of the pod. I don't think there is anything to let you know other than how tightly it fits in the track. I did a search of both this forum and the other one but the post did not show up. The thread involved modifying the larger-size slots to accommodate the smaller-sized one. I recall that one member actually ordered a proper sized slot from Forest River while others used various methods to "squeeze" their existing slots down to the smaller size for their domes. The one that sticks in my mind, which seems the safest and would give a uniform opening, is the use of vice grips. I added the part about pre-setting the vice grips to insure the proper opening was achieved for the entire length of the channel. Perhaps another member will remember more about this, but the process seems simple enough. I don't see any danger of breaking the channel. It is aluminum and will bend quite easily.  If you use a vice-grips to 'set' the best width of the track...let the Pod sit out in the sun for awhile so that the plastic of the track can soften slightly before using the grips. Cold plastic would have a greater chance of cracking. After the grips have adjusted the track width...I would spray some cold water on the track to help harden the plastic.------------- TIDALWAVE |

I thought they were all aluminum, too. Never seen one on other campers (popups) which weren't AL, either.

Aluminum here.. we have had no trouble with the track, I did, as soon as we brought it home, take a round file to the track opening to make it slide in smoother.

You probably know this already, but wither tape the jaws of the vice grips with tape or use a piece of cloth around the channel to protect the channel from becoming marred.
