Our 173 has a convertible (jack-knife) sofa in back a large U-shaped dinette in front.  We are buying a 2 or 3 inch memory foam topper to use on top of the existing dinette cushions.  So far, we have not determined the best location to store the topper during the day when we are not using the area as a queen size bed.  Any suggestions for storing it?

Mine goes behind the sofa. There is a space there. You have to role it up tight and push it in.

We store our older foam topper behind the sofa, but as you said, it is a tight fit.  We use insulated foil covers on our windows when it is in storage and while we are traveling.  They do an excellent job of providing privacy and retaining heat or A/C.  Those are also hard to store, but the pods have few windows so they should store easily under the dinette seats.

There is a wealth of storage space under the sofa if you remove the front panel.  Depending on how we arrange our storage items there, space might be available for the window covers.

Thanks for your comment, Seanl. I always hear that great minds think alike.  Apparently behind the sofa is the best area for the mattress topper.

We use a 3" mattress topper over our 173's sofa, and generally leave it like a permanent bed. I have folded it and stuffed it behind the back, similar to what Seanl said, just to prove to myself that it will fit. Leaving it semi-permanently makes the layout similar to a 171, with a u-shaped dinette.

We also stash our topper behind the couch. There is an amazing amount of storage under and behind that. Gotta love it!
