Our carbon monoxide alarm started "chirping"-  a sign (usually) of either a weak
battery, or a need for maintenance.  According to the documentation, the only
maintenance required is a periodic vacuuming.  I did that, and replaced the
battery for good measure.  It was OK for a week or so, but has now started
chirping again.

Anybody have a similar problem?

Bob,

Mine did the same thing. If you search the reviews for the OEM unit on Amazon you'll see it is a common failure mode. The only cure is the trash can. I replaced mine with a Kidde combo fire and CO alarm. Mounted it in the same spot. It talks too. Smile

Thanks, Charlie.  You just saved me a bunch of trying to fix an unfixable!  New Kidde coming up!
