Anyone have any experience towing with a Ford Ranger with a v/6??? A neighbor is looking at mine tomorrow.

I pulled my 177 with a Ranger V6.....It did well on level terrain but not so much on hills!  I traded up to a Dodge Dakota with an 8 cylinder engine.  Came with a tow package including trans. cooler.  The Ranger was about 12 years old and beginning to give me some problems (clutch, A/C controls, lacking suspension).  I can really feel a difference with the larger engine, but the Dakota still 'feels' like a smaller truck!

If you live in the flatlands I'd say you'd be fine, otherwise just go slow or trade up!

IIRC, the 3 litre V6 can only tow 2000 pounds, while the 4 litre V6 can tow 3500.  The 3 litre is obviously not an option for towing an r-pod, and quite frankly, I'd suggest something with a little more power if you're planning trips much more than 300 miles from home.
